Panchayat
A panchayat is an assembly of elected representatives that administers the affairs of the panchayat raj institutions. As far as a village panchayat is concerned, it is the main committee that implements the decisions of a gram sabha and manages day-to-day governance. The main components of a panchayat are: President: The head of the panchayat. Presides over meetings and supervises the overall functioning of the panchayat. Vice President: Takes on responsibilities in the absence of the President. Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward of the panchayat. Standing Committees: Sub-committees formed to facilitate decisions, dealing with finance, development, welfare, health, education, and similar matters.
